Without evaluating the strength and position of your Lagnesh, a birth chart (Kundli) reading remains incomplete. It is the single most important planet for personal success, health and vitality.

What Does Lagnesh Mean?

The word Lagnesh is a combination of two Sanskrit words:
•Lagna = Ascendant (1st House / Self)
•Ish / Isha = Lord or Ruler

Therefore, Lagnesh is the ruling planet of your 1st House (Ascendant sign).For example, if your Ascendant sign is Aries (Mesha), its ruling planet Mars (Mangal) becomes your Lagnesh. If your Ascendant sign is Taurus (Vrishabha), Venus (Shukra) is your Lagnesh.

Why Is the Lagnesh So Important?

• Receiving positive aspects (Drishti) from benefic planets like Jupiter or Venus.
• Result: High energy, strong immunity, personal confidence and natural leadership.

Signs of a Challenged Lagnesh:

• Placed in a Trik / Dusthana house (6th, 8th or 12th).
• Sitting in its debilitation sign or heavily combust (too close to the Sun).
• Afflicted by harsh aspects from Rahu, Ketu or Saturn without benefic protection.
